Fender American Standard Jazz Bass 1997 in Black - Active
Fender American Standard Jazz Bass 1997 - Black - USA - Active Preamp
Here's a lovely 1997 Fender American Standard Jazz Bass in classic Black, made in the USA. These American Standards have earned a reputation for their excellent build quality, comfortable necks and unmistakable Jazz Bass character, and this particular example offers a little extra tonal flexibility thanks to an active electronics modification.
Manufactured in 1997, with serial number N7271462, this bass features an alder body, maple neck and maple fingerboard. The familiar Jazz Bass pickup configuration provides plenty of clarity, punch and definition, while the active preamp allows further adjustment of the bass and treble frequencies directly from the instrument.
Unlike the original passive configuration found on American Standard Jazz Basses of this period, this example has been modified with an active preamp and a four-control layout comprising two individual pickup volumes, bass and treble. The modification makes it particularly versatile, offering the familiar Jazz Bass sound with additional onboard tone shaping.
