1940 Epiphone Coronet Archtop – Serial #4322 – Original Blade Pickup – Exceptionally Clean
Offered here is a 1940 Epiphone Coronet archtop, serial number 4322, in remarkably well-preserved condition for its age. This is a largely original example, with the only exception being a professionally made replacement pickguard, built to match the exact size and specifications of the original, which was no longer intact.
The guitar retains its original blade pickup, which works beautifully and delivers that warm, articulate pre-war Epiphone tone these early electrics are known for. Finding one of these with the original electronics intact and fully functional is increasingly uncommon.
Cosmetically, the instrument presents extremely well. There is honest play wear along the neck from years of use, but nothing that affects playability or structure. The body, finish, and hardware are otherwise in stunning shape, especially considering it is over 80 years old.
