Some cymbals are too good to be ignored. Sometimes a great GM Designs cymbal ends up sitting on the shelf after a trade show or two, gets lightly demo’d in our Austin, TX inventory room, and never finds the spotlight it deserves. The Mod Shop Series is how we give those pieces a second chance.
We pull each cymbal back onto the bench, re-evaluate it, and make the changes that help it speak louder to more players—anything from shaving a few grams, to new lathing, to fresh hammer work, to reshaping, waves, or added holes/rivets, depending on what the cymbal needs. Then we leave intentional “shop traces” behind: ghosted logo remnants, raw lines, older patina or discolored lathe marks, new hammer scars—proof of the transformation. Every Mod Shop cymbal is finished with a laser-engraved Mod Shop logo, and no two will ever be the same.
Each listing includes a demo of the exact cymbal you’ll receive, plus a slight discount since these are lightly played/broken-in and refreshed in-house. One-of-a-kind sound, one-of-a-kind look, and a win-win deal for you and the cymbal! Explore more at gmdcymbals.com
