Univox Unicord model: 252 - 70s Bass Amp Head - Fully Refurbished

This Vintage USA made Transistor Bass Amp Head is from the 1970s - Provides about 25 Watts - Fully refurbished: repaired and re-capped, so is expected to perform at it’s very best for decades to come - sounds GREAT!!! Only 6 Transistors in your signal path: Pure Sound! - that’s how they made things back then - a novelty item - perfect for a low power approach to music, versus KiloWatts of Overkill that blasts off your ears - Kind of a novelty amp, that also would make a great little practice amp head.

Features: 2 Inputs, Volume, Bass and Treble controls, 1/4” Speaker output (custom modified) - about 25 Watt output

Lot: Unicord 252 Bass Amp Head

Work Performed: Repaired, Re-Caped: replaced 13 capacitors and one transistor (see photo, which shows original parts removed - photos show PC board with it's current parts), upgraded speaker output connection to standard 1/4", re-soldered aged solder points, treated controls and switches with contact cleaner, re-routed ground connection, added missing hardware (feet, screws) and knobs, Physical cleaning and detail work, full functional test - Good: about a $325 job - with the purchase of this amp you get this amp for free and only pay partially for the work that went into it - I love vintage gear like this and wanted to res-urect it, to give it a new life.

Condition: Great Physical Condition, Sounds great, found to work reliably, but there is one shortcoming: the volume control pot may crackle slightly at very low volume (higher setting fine) and the 2 other pots may slightly crackle - could not remedy with contact cleaner, so new pots would be needed for perfection - hard to find as larger than today's parts, but at additional cost I will bring this to perfection

Also Possible: Add a line level output for an additional $55

Purchase Agreement - All Sales are: "AS-IS”, FINAL - and: NOT RETURNABLE - NO REFUNDS: LET’s do all that is needed to make sure to get you exactly what you need - BEFORE your purchase (Not returnable)! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS - I am here to assist. All items are used and VINTAGE - sold "AS-IS" (-> vintage = often 45+ years old!!!) and even with the best of refurb / repair work STILL CAN FAIL) and thus is sold without warranty or guarantees of any kind (AS-IS). I aim to perform all work that I foresee necessary, to provide equipment in well and reliably working condition - refurbish in as much detail as possible - and test thoroughly, to gain confidence through testing, to predict that it will last, but cannot guarantee that. Once work complete, it is still possible that something can go or be wrong with it (=vintage, not new) - Prices of items offered here reflect the work that went into a given piece of gear until it is listed, but cannot cover what a given piece may need, nor may need in the future - that would be at your risk and expense - Please Ask Questions - If there are defects, problems or shortcomings: likely I can repair, but it will be at additional cost - I do service what I sell at my regular shop rate. Any shipping costs responsibility of the buyer.
