SHOE Pedals Plume Distortion/Fuzz

The Plume is designed to produce a thick and heavy distortion sound reminiscent of those heard on many classic 90s alternative rock albums. It is (so far) the most aggressive-sounding pedal in the SHOE lineup and kicking it on mid song will give you a satisfying explosion of sound. It does great on heavy riffs, drones, shoegazer chords, and leads alike and (on a guitar neck pickup) can even get you into some smooth prog type sounds as well. The pedal’s lower gain mode uses one less stage of distortion and is generally on the darker/grungier/moody side of things while the high gain mode produces an all out wall of fuzz.

I've also found it to be very good for percussive early post-punk type playing on lower gain settings as it gets super punchy and very slightly gated. The Plume is also designed to work well on bass instruments and guitars alike. On bass, it is recommended that you keep the bass knob in the upper end of its range and you may want to lower the gain somewhat to get a clearer sound (or not). As always, have fun! Controls: LEVEL: Sets the output level of the pedal TREBLE: Allows the player to turn down high frequencies after the main distortion stages of the pedal. BASS: Allows the player to reduce bass response before the distortion stages of the pedal in order to retain clarity and further adjust the pedal’s gain response. For tighter sounds, turn Bass down. For bass instrument use, it is recommended you keep this knob above 2 or 3 o’clock. GAIN: Controls the intensity of distortion.

TOGGLE SWITCH: Selects between a lower-gain darker distortion sound (down position) and an explosively huge high gain wall of fuzz (up position). FOOTSWITCH: True Bypass switch which removes the effect from your signal chain entirely when the LED indicator turns off. ​POWER: Please note that SHOE pedals do not run on batteries. You will need a standard 2.1 mm center negative 9V power supply (as used on most pedals) in order to run them. Power consumption is extremely low for all SHOE pedals (less than 5mA and for some pedals even below 1mA) so virtually any pedal power supply of the correct polarity can run more than one SHOE pedal on a daisy chain.
