At the heart of this tenor uke is a solid sinker redwood top, a unique tonewood prized for its responsiveness and depth. Reclaimed from old-growth logs submerged for generations, sinker redwood delivers a rich, mature character with a soft attack and complex overtones that feel broken-in from the first strum. Paired with beautifully figured blistered koa back and sides, the result is a tone that blends warmth and clarity with a touch of sweetness and shimmer, giving this instrument both intimacy and projection.

Visually, this Custom Shop build leans fully into Martin’s tradition of fine ornamentation.
