Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique, quality 1970's / 80's era Electro Voice 671BL model dynamic cardioid microphone with the Low Impedance setting and perfect for singing as well as broadcasting as it was intended. This obscure and underrated microphone comes with a mic clip and new exterior pop filter for improved sound characteristics and longer cable in which to operate.

Pic # 2 shows this very model in an older E.V catalog I have along with it's basic characteristics.

This is a very high quality E.V product that was made in America. E.V made a bunch of 6 series mics over the years and while some are quite notorious such as the 666, 676, 660 & 664 models the 671BL is an older mic that hasn't been sold in many years so the younger generations would not be familiar with this model. I would compare the 671BL to a Shure SM-58 of it's time and was E.V's competition to that mic. The frequency response and tone are very similar. It's a lite weight mic despite having an all metal body and it's quite rugged.

The olive drab green stock painted finish gives it a little more sinister appearance but it was ideal for reducing light glare.

If you have never heard one of these older mics before you will be very impressed with the sound and tone. It's warm and smooth with a bit of bass like the Shure SM58. This American made microphone had good quality control and these mics were quite expensive when originally sold. This 671BL has a strong signal too...100% output. The cardioid element has excellent uni-directional capabilities as well blocking out most background noise.

If you want the mic to sound a little more raw in nature then use it without the new exterior pop filter. If you want an absolutely clean sound then use with the exterior pop filter. You'll notice the change in either setting but that will be for you to decide.

As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in very nice cosmetic condition. The original painted finish is free of scratches, dents, fractures or pitting. Just a few very subtle scuff marks. The E.V label is perfect and completely legible. The mesh grill has no deformation, odors or dents and a new inner foam liner / pop filter was installed as the original was all but gone. I'm also including the new exterior pop filter made by Auray for even better wind proofing. You don't need it but you'll find it helps overall and it fits like a glove. You can really lean into this mic.

The on / off switch slides smooth and works without issue. The mic has a small locking mechanism to the side of the switch as well if you want to keep the switch in the permanent on position. Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The XLR connection was cleaned as well as it was quite filthy. She's good to go.

It does come with the mic clip that grips the mic firmly and looks very nice with virtually no wear. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension and is adjustable. It will screw onto any mic stand you have.

The never used cable is also included and 20 foot in length giving you a lot of room to work with. The cable is in excellent condition being soft, pliable and free of damage. The cable has the quality Neutrik male and female XLR connectors.

This is a great package deal and you're going to love the tone on this 671BL for sure.
