Overview This is a high-quality Heritage Series Les Paul '80, featuring original Tim Shaw pickups. This model is widely regarded as a pioneer among the modern Les Paul "Burst" reissues. Considering its age, the guitar is in excellent condition with no structural repairs or issues.

Features & Construction Marking a return to classic specs, this model features a mahogany neck—a significant departure from the maple necks common in the 1970s—and a smaller, period-correct headstock. While modern Historic Collection models offer a more surgically accurate reproduction of the original Burst, this model was a stunning standout in its day. The flame top is elegant and realistic, with a "living" figure that shifts beautifully depending on the viewing angle. While many examples from this era have faded over time, this particular guitar has retained its rich reddish hue. The finish has kept its luster, making it an exceptional example for its vintage.

Electronics & Tone It comes equipped with the highly sought-after Tim Shaw "New P.A.F." pickups. These retain the clarity and nuance of the earlier stamped-number pickups while delivering a richer, warmer character. The tone is lustrous with excellent sustain in clean settings, and notes remain articulate and well-defined even when pushed into crunch territory. They handle high-gain settings remarkably well, allowing for expressive picking dynamics without becoming muddy.

Condition There is some light buckle rash on the back from honest play wear, but the body is otherwise free of notable scratches, and the back of the neck is clean. The frets have approximately 70% life remaining, and the neck is straight with no warping or twisting. I have confirmed that the truss rod functions perfectly in both directions. The electronics are in great shape with no scratchy pots or noise.

Accessories & Parts The guitar includes its original brown "slim" hardshell case (please note the handle has been replaced). While some screws have been updated, all other parts remain original. There are traces of previous tuner replacements, but the original Grover tuners have been reinstalled
