Cushmic Sounds is pleased to offer on consignment this gorgeous vintage Gibson L-1 Archtop small-bodied acoustic from 1921 in original factory laquer finish.
Serial #64173 (Hand written on internal white label sticker)
Introduced in 1902 and manufactured until 1925, the L-1 and L-0 models were Gibson's first small-bodied acoustic guitars. In 1926 the growing acoustic market saw Gibson repurpose both models as its first flat-top guitars which are closely associated with blues legend Robert Johnson.

Serviced and setup here at Cushmic Sounds with Elixir 12-53 Phosphor Bronze strings, frets polished, fretboard cleaned, bridge placement and intonation set. Due to the thickness of the neck, it has remained as straight as an arrow!
Frets are in excellent condition with only minor wear on the first three. Action is excellent, making for great playability. This lovely 100+ year old guitar has a beautiful, mellow, sweet tone that instantly transports you back to the 1920s.
Overall condition is Very Good. The lacquer finish exhibits lovely natural patina throughout. There are no breaks or structural cracks, original internal H-bracing is firmly in place.
NOTE: There was previously an under-saddle pickup installed. Notice the two plugged holes for the volume/tone controls at the top of the pickguard and the plugged hole on the side of the lower bout for an output jack. A hole is also drilled underneath the saddle for the pickup.
