The Suhr Classic JM is a no-nonsense instrument built around the fundamentals that make a great electric guitar: quality tonewoods, premium hardware, and a playing feel that gets out of your way. It's a straightforward design executed at a high level, and that's precisely the point.

The two-piece basswood body is lightweight and resonant, with a balanced frequency response that works across a wide range of styles. Arm, hand, and tummy contours make it comfortable for long sessions, and the lacquer gloss finish lets the wood breathe in a way that contributes to the overall liveliness of the instrument.

The roasted maple neck and fretboard are a clear highlight. Roasting stabilizes the wood against environmental changes and gives the neck a naturally smooth, broken-in feel. The Even C Slim profile (.800"–.880") is comfortable without being thin, and the 10"–14" compound radius handles both chord work and lead playing without compromise. Twenty-two stainless steel jumbo frets mean low maintenance and consistent playability for the life of the instrument.

Hardware is built to Suhr's usual standard — locking tuners, a 2-post bridge with solid saddles and steel block, and a pair of Aldrich humbuckers that deliver clear, articulate tone with plenty of output. The control layout is simple: one volume, one tone, and a 3-way toggle.
