The Fender Coronado double cutaway hollow body was introduced in the mid 1960s to compete with hollow bodies and semi hollows from Gibson, Epiphone, Gretsch, and Rickenbacker. They were developed by Roger Rossmiesl, formerly of Rickenbacker.

This 1968 Coronado II is in the Wildwood II finish which was achieved by injecting dyes into live beechwood trees. The roman numeral denotes the color. The Coronado II features two DeArmond single coil pickups, a unique tremolo system that stays in tune, and a body shape similar to a Gibson 330.

The pickups are aggressive. The bridge is bright and raw while the neck is bassy and full. This makes for a versatile guitar that can be used for jazz or garage rock. The neck is comfortable and plays very well. The first three frets do have some string indents. The original Fender/Grover tuners are excellent. Overall, the body is very clean with some minor finish checking that is hard to photograph. One string tree is missing. Includes the original case.

Nut width: 1.5 inches

1st fret thickness: 0.89 inches

12th fret width: 2.01 inches

12th fret thickness: 0.90 inches
