The Akai GX-635D is a stellar, vintage 4-track, 2-channel stereo reel-to-reel tape deck manufactured in Japan between 1979 and 1981. It was part of Akai's high-end open-reel series and is best known for its durable GX (Glass & Crystal Ferrite) heads, which are virtually wear-proof. The heads on this unit are in excellent shape, as is the rest of the reel machine, inside and out, which also grades at Excellent.

- Frequency Response: 30Hz to 27kHz at 7 ½ ips (±3dB using WR tape)
