No longer in the Bad Co. band, don’t see myself joining a Queen or AC/DC tribute band so I don’t need this one anymore.
I will miss the fact that it’s a light weight bass coming in around 9lbs on the bathroom scale. So it was good for 4hr gigs, but I digress…
It’s 1989 Ernie Ball Music Man Sting Ray. Last year before they started to transition over different bridges, neck joints and battery cover.
It sounds way better than the newer EBMM. It’s got a growl that just can’t be reproduced with new components of today. I’ve tried to like the new ones and this just better. It plays great, action is low but you can still slap and not get any bad buzzes. Only real issue I saw was it a minor truss rod repair at the nut, never gave me any issues and truss is fully functional.
It’s got plenty dings, scratches, and marks all over but that’s fairly common with a bass this old.
Comes in a newer, modern hard shell case.
