Neil Peart's is from 1985 and Steve Gadd's is from 1994. They have been republished, but these are the 1st editions with original artwork and light vintage patina. Both books are in good to very good condition for their age. All pages are accounted for, clean and bounded within the paperback covers. Up Close does not contain the original CD...remember those? Primarily authored by Bill Wheeler in collaboration with Neil, it serves as a technical resource for intermediate to advanced drummers looking to master Neil Peart's intricate drumming style. The book focuses on "Off the Record" drum transcriptions, providing an authentic look into Peart's rhythmic language and technical mastery. The book includes detailed transcriptions for several of Rush's most technically demanding tracks from the 1980's era when it was published.

Steve Gadd Up Close gives drummers the opportunity to study many of Steve's most famous grooves and solo patterns with the help of Steve's own stickings and musical insights. It was first published by Warner Brothers in 1994. Transcribed from Steve's classic video, Up Close, by Gadd and Bobby Cleall. The book covers rudiments, jazz, R & B, Latin, timekeeping, and studio playing. Includes a personal photo history of Steve's life up until the mid-1990's.
