This is a special custom wah pedal using the VOX V847-A housing. The sound is truly mellow. Its super-multi-purpose features emphasize practicality, allowing you to adjust input gain, bass volume, and Q. Highly recommended for those looking for real-world use!

An extension of your fingertips, coloring the space.

The MELLOW WAH was designed as a tool to express the player's emotions more delicately and three-dimensionally. Rather than a powerful weapon that asserts itself with drastic sound changes, it aims to directly reflect the performer's feelings in the sound, like a choking effect. It's an envelope-like wah that controls the "ambience" rather than the tone. It delivers a thicker, mellower sound with less distortion than a typical wah pedal.

Not only is it capable of delicate expression in guitar solos, but it also maintains the bass definition and chord transitions, providing a "wrap-around" feel never before seen in a wah pedal.

Circuit Approach

From here on, things get a little more nerdy. Only those who enjoy it are welcome. So, I'll explain it quickly (lol). In addition to the classic inductor-based wah circuit, there are also types that use op-amps. The op-amp approach is far superior in terms of product stability (individual differences) and cost. Initially, we considered an op-amp approach for the mellow wah, as we were aiming for a low-distortion sound. However, we ultimately decided on a circuit using an inductor. While this may sound vague, we felt that the inductor's sound blended more musically and the transitions when the pedal was depressed. We chose an out-buffer for two reasons: "to facilitate matching with the next device" and "to avoid phase inversion." This makes it much easier to implement when using a wah in a real-world situation.

A MOD Designed for Practical Use

- The chassis is based on the VOX V847
- Added three controls: GAIN, BASS, and DEEP
- Added an output buffer
- Added an indicator (LED)
- Through bypass

・Side Knobs
- GAIN: Adjusts input gain. Adjusts volume, distortion, and matching with the equipment connected before the WAH.
- BASS: Adjusts the amount of bass.
- DEEP: Adjusts the amount of Q change.

- Transistor: BC108
Also used in SMUG FACE. This selection prioritized brilliant high frequencies over availability.
