The Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe is a forward-thinking take on a legendary dreadnought. Combining vintage tone with modern enhancements, this instrument offers traditional warmth, refined aesthetics, and cutting-edge materials designed for today's players.
Built with a torrefied Sitka spruce top treated with Martin’s Vintage Tone System (VTS), the D-28 Modern Deluxe produces the rich, open sound of a well-aged guitar right out of the case. Paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides, the tone is bold and balanced with powerful bass, crisp highs, and excellent projection.
Under the hood, you'll find a titanium truss rod, Liquidmetal® bridge pins, and a composite carbon fiber bridge plate, all working together to increase resonance, reduce weight, and enhance sustain. The forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing (made from VTS-treated Adirondack spruce) further contributes to the dynamic tonal response.
The Vintage Deluxe neck profile with a high-performance taper offers a comfortable, fast-playing feel. Premium touches like European flamed maple binding, abalone inlays, gold frets, and a 1930s-style script logo inlaid on the headstock make this one of Martin’s most visually stunning guitars in the modern lineup.
