Ultra rare 1983 Gibson J-25
If you’re unfamiliar with the history of this guitar, when Ovation curved back acoustics shot to the spotlight in the early ‘80s, they created an alternative based on their legendary J-45, with a far superior tone to the Ovation. It’s ideal in every way, from recording to live playing.
This particular guitar plays great, the action and intonation is exceptional. Like most vintage Gibsons, it had its headstock fracture, which has been completely repaired and fixed. I reapplied nitro-cellulose over the repair, so it plays seamlessly.
The top is in great shape, a few scratches you can see in the photos, but overall very little cracking compared to other guitars of the era.
As I write this, I’m regretting my decision to sell it at all, so buy it now before I change my mind completely!
