really nice vintage lawton 9, plain number. this mouthpiece is a very easy player, with a pleasant vintage edge on a very pretty core sound.
the tip opening is .100, which is on the large side for a 9. i originally bought this as an alternative to my theo wanne 11, and the tip openings are comparable.
this is a very nice playing piece. however, recently i’ve drastically changed my alto setup to something far smaller tip opening, and these huge lawtons don’t accommodate my sound concept as well as they used to.
mouthpiece is in perfect playing and good cosmetic condition, with limited wear and making a nice solid “pop” when sealed with the reed.
includes slide-on ligature and matching cap.
