Mystery Fernandes Neck 1980s - Nitro

1980’s Mystery Fernandes neck- with old Gotoh tuners.

This a very cool vintage style neck- it’s a slim profile like an actual ‘61 Strat- but with a veneer rosewood fretboard. It is a well worn maple with what feels to be old nitto. There are no markings/lettering on the neck, and I’m basing the Fernandes assignment after long hours cross referencing the jig holes in the neck and behind the tuners. There was an outside Hope it was an old Mechanic Land neck, but after having one recently, this one “feels” older and more broken in. It has small fret wire, also like a vintage instrument. I suspect it is high end MIJ from the early reissue days based on the inlay and headstock shape. It sets up like a vintage neck, needing a bit taller action to clear the radius. The nut measures 1 5/8” and I would described the profile as a slim taper C with very shallow shoulders. Super comfortable and familiar if you are into true vintage necks.
