1939 Buescher Aristocrat Tenor Saxophone
This is a vintage, pre-war, Series 1 Aristocrat Tenor. Re-lacquered; reported to be previously owned by Mark Lindsay from the 1960s pop band, Paul Revere and the Raiders. No dings or dents and the re-lac was done many years before I bought it, and looks "vintage dark" at near 100%. The sax has been well cared for and played, with only normal maintenance and the one re-finish. The engraving is still visible, albeit a bit blurry.
The sax has been maintained by David Schottle at David's Musical Instrument Repair in Carrollton, Texas. This sax sees regular use in rotation with my other sax. It's in tip-top playing condition and needs nothing.
I like these saxes and I have two of them. The best thing about this sax is its sweet tone and spot-on intonation. Blends well in my jazz big band. It's neat pedigree and cool aged lacquer is a bonus.
If you appreciate vintage, American-made saxophones, this is it. Pre-war, golden era of saxophones, they don't get much better than this.
The sax comes with its original case and brass body end plug, as well as two vintage Brilhart mouthpieces.
Note: This is a professional grade instrument.
