Pearl 4414 steel shell snare 80s

For sale is a vintage early-’80s Pearl 4414 steel shell snare, freshly cleaned and sympathetically restored with its natural aged patina preserved. This is the classic 8-lug beaded steel shell with the warm, focused crack Pearl was known for in this era.

• Shell: Chrome-over-steel, beaded

• Era: 1981–1982 (black/gold Pearl badge)

• Hoops: Original Pearl triple-flange

• Lugs: Original, one shows a small dent (purely cosmetic)

• Throw-off: Original, professionally modified to replace a missing pin — functions properly and holds tension

• Muffler: Missing (no extra holes drilled) and one lug has a small dent (pictured).

• Finish: Original chrome with honest patina; one small area of thin chrome between two lugs from prior steel-wool cleaning

Condition:

Very good vintage condition. Shell is round, edges are clean, hardware is solid, threads are smooth, and the drum tunes easily top to bottom. Cosmetic wear is consistent with age and fully documented in photos. No structural issues.
