For Sale: 1984 Yamaha SG-1000 – Tobacco Sunburst w/ Gig Bag

Up for sale is a 1984 Yamaha SG-1000 in Tobacco Sunburst, complete with a non-original gig bag.

This is a very cool vintage Yamaha that has clearly been played and enjoyed over the years, but it remains in good overall condition and is fully functional. These SG-1000s are well known for their excellent build quality, great sustain, and versatile tones, and this one is a solid player with a lot of character.

Condition

This guitar is in very good condition and I would rate it a 7.5/10. It shows honest vintage wear throughout, including scratches, dings, finish checking, wear on the back, and some cloudiness in the clear coat. Please review all photos carefully for the most accurate representation of condition.

The nut has been replaced, but otherwise the guitar appears to be all original. There are no cracks, repairs, or other major structural issues. The neck is straight, the original frets are in excellent condition with no real wear, and the guitar plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots. It has also been recently set up by our in-house luthier and is ready to go.

Features

This SG-1000 is equipped with its original pickups and includes the factory coil-tap functionality, giving it a wide range of usable tones. Between the solid construction, ebony fingerboard, and versatile electronics, these are easy guitars to appreciate whether you are a player, collector, or both.
