1980's Fender Squier MIJ USA Bullet HH
- Body is a repaired MIJ Squier Bullet that had a crack. Crack is doweled and glued so a permanent fix;
- Bridge modded for a top-loader Tele half bridge with compensated brass saddles;
- Stratocaster body contours hand carved;
- Finish is a poly Kahki with Nitocellulose Lacquer clear coat which caused some interesting and rather cool finish checking;
- Custom HH pickguard with two import Alnico Wide Range style humbuchers wired for coil splitting & added resistors to compensate for volume loss in single coil mode. These pickups sound great – confirmed by other non-biased ears!
- The neck is an Allparts Chunky Tele Lic. By Fender neck. MIJ, great necks with thin Nitro finish added. USA Bullet necks were ridiculously thin. MIJ Bullet necks a little better. This Allparts neck rocks.
- Tuners are Allparts economy 6 in line K-style.
- The guitar weighs in at 6.7 lbs, very comfortable to play. Set up with .010-.046 GHS Boomers.
- The Fender and Squier Bullets of the early '80's are great guitars but need some help in some areas.
- This is a players guitar. You can get Strat / Tele / and full-on humbucker with the switching scenario. As close to a do-all guitar as you can get imho.
