West Pest is a semi-modular analog synthesizer that provides a wide array of sonic capabilities while maintaining a quick and easy workflow. You’ll make fresh & inspiring sounds with its huge sonic capabilities. 

West Pest can be used as a stand-alone synthesizer or can be installed into a  modular rack. 

By popping the West Pest out of its enclosure, it becomes a 40HP Eurorack module. 

Oscillator. 

The West Pest’s oscillator was designed in partnership with Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers.

Its circuitry is not a clone or based on any outside designs. It is made with 100% modern components. This keeps it very stable, and gives it a super-rich, unique sound.

Wave Folder. 

West Pest uses a Wave Folder to shape its sounds rather than a filter. 

A wave folder shapes sounds differently than a filter. 

Instead of removing harmonics, a wave folder increased the harmonic content of the oscillator by folding the wave in on itself to create sonically rich waveforms. 

Dynamics Controller. 

West Pest also  has a dynamics controller and an LFO to further sculpt its sound.

The Dynamics Controller is a fascinating invention from the folks at Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers. It combines the functionality of an envelope generator, VCA, and a low pass filter. When a note is triggered, the Dynamics Controller opens with a sharp, percussive attack. Once the note is released, the Dynamics Controller adds a magical, voltage controllable, ringing decay as the amplitude drops and harmonics are rolled off. The result is a completely unique round and musical texture.

Semi-Modular. 

Since the West Pest is semi-modular, it can work with or without patch cables.

West Pest provides access to basically 8 different modules (oscillator, wave contour, dynamics controller, LFO, multi-mod tool MIDI to CV converter, sequencer and button keyboard) as well as 18 Eurorack compatible patch points.
