1960 J-200 with a fat neck style

Gibson / 1960 J-200

A 1960 J-200 in sunburst finish.

While Gibson necks typically became thinner starting in 1960, this particular instrument retains the nicely rounded, substantial neck profile commonly seen on the preceding 1959 models.

The neck condition was excellent upon arrival. Upon closer inspection, you can see the neck has been reset, accompanied by overspray.

You can also see a shim has been placed at the fingerboard end, with overspray only around that area.

It's likely the pickguard has also been replaced.

That said, the body's sunburst finish has faded nicely, giving it a bright tone and a solid vintage feel.

The rosewood bridge has been over-lacquered.

The bridge plate has been replaced with one of the same shape, showing meticulous maintenance extending to the neck and body areas.

After arriving at our shop, we repaired and reinforced a crack that was present on the upper left side of the pickguard.

This 1960 J-200 boasts a fat neck and produces a wonderful sound. It must have been cherished by its previous players and the craftsmen who maintained it. It's truly excellent.

[Condition]

The neck and body have been inspected and adjusted by an acoustic guitar specialist, with all areas in excellent condition.

The neck has been straightened with no buzzing or muffled notes. The 12th fret string height is set optimally at approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string and 2.0mm on the 1st string.

The saddle height also has ample room, with about 5mm to 6mm remaining.
