This Fender Jazz Bass JB62FL Fretless, Made in Japan, was produced between 2007 and 2010 and represents one of the excellent Japanese-built Fender models from that era. Finished in a classic Sunburst, this bass captures the timeless look and feel of a vintage-style Jazz Bass while offering the expressive character that only a fretless instrument can provide.

Overall the bass is in excellent condition, with only minimal cosmetic wear consistent with normal careful use. Any small marks or surface wear can be seen in the photos, but overall the instrument presents very clean.

This bass truly sings. It has a very smooth and articulate fretless voice with great sustain, and it responds beautifully to vibrato and expressive playing. The instrument is currently set up with low action, making it comfortable and easy to play across the entire neck. It is strung with fresh flatwound strings, which complement the fretless character perfectly and produce a warm, classic tone.

The truss rod works properly and has adjustment room in both directions, and the neck itself is stable with no issues.

The bass features an alder body, maple neck, and a slab-laminated rosewood fretless fingerboard with position lines, making it easy to navigate even for players who are newer to fretless instruments. Standard Jazz Bass electronics include two volume controls and a master tone, allowing you to blend the pickups for a wide range of tones.

A finger ramp has been installed between the pickups to provide a comfortable reference point for the plucking hand and improve control when playing. There are also traces of a previously installed strap button on the back of the headstock, and two small screw holes between the pickups where a finger rest had been mounted in the past. These have been covered with a removable wooden piece that is attached with double-sided tape and can easily be removed if desired.

There are some minor scratches and light tarnish on a few metal parts, but considering its age the bass remains in very good cosmetic and technical condition.

The bass weighs approximately 4.43 kg, features a 34" scale length, 38 mm nut width, and 19 mm string spacing, offering the comfortable and familiar feel of a traditional Jazz Bass. The instrument will come with a soft case.

This is a great-sounding Japanese fretless Jazz Bass that delivers classic Fender tone, smooth playability, and excellent sustain - a wonderful instrument for anyone looking to explore or expand into the expressive world of fretless bass.
