Here’s one for the collection…2021 Historic Reissue Murphy Lab, Lemon burst, 8.6 pounds, Carmelita neck carve. If you are a fan of slimmer, R0 style necks, this is your huckleberry. Has one of the BEST feeling necks I’ve ever played… This guitar has by far and away one of the most “believable” tops I’ve seen on an R9. We’ve all seen the over the top, flamed out the ass tops on so many of the historic reissues, but this one just has that “look” —not too little, not over the top, just a VERY realistic top straight out of the 50s. And the finish ? In person, this thing straight up looks like a real deal 59 with a nicely mellowed lemon burst finish. Nice dark fretboard, The aging on this piece is done to perfection and TRULY looks and FEELS the part of a vintage burst that’s been around but packs the goods.. The tone ?? Get outta here ! This is one of the best Murphy Lab pieces I’ve ever seen and it’s a Lefty !!! Also, check out the Murphy aged Lifton case—-this thing is the complete package. They just don’t get any better than this one…
