1982 Fender Fullerton AVRI Stratocaster Body – Aug 17, 1982 – Early American Vintage Reissue Jack Cup and Tremolo Bridge Assembly

Up for sale is an original 1982 Fender Fullerton-era American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster body. These early AVRI instruments were produced at the Fullerton factory during Fender’s first attempt at true vintage reissues, and they are widely regarded as some of the most desirable early reissue Fender instruments.

The body is dated August 17, 1982 in the tremolo cavity, clearly visible in the photos.

This is a sunburst body with beautiful grain showing through the finish, consistent with early AVRI production. The contours display the distinctive “Fullerton curves” that collectors often point to as being closer to original 1950s Strat body shaping than many later reissues.

Condition

Overall, the body is in very good vintage condition for its age (over 40 years old).

There is honest play wear and finish loss in a few areas, particularly on the back where finish has worn through to the wood. The rest of the finish presents nicely and retains a great vintage look. The edges, contours, and forearm carve are all clean and nicely preserved.

The neck pocket retains the original Fender serial number sticker.
The trem cavity shows the original factory date marking: Aug 17, 1982.

Included with the body are the jack cup and tremolo bridge assembly with Fender saddles.
