High quality Suzuki Violin No. 280 in mint condition. It is characterized by a warm, full-bodied tone and good balance across the entire range. Suitable for the serious progressing or intermediate student.

This instrument is an example of Suzuki Violin craftmanship at its best, showcasing precise construction and complex multi-layer varnishing. This violin conveys vintage character and is aesthetically inspiring.

The violin is defect-free - there are no cracks, repairs, seam separations, or any other issues. (Anticipating the question, the dark line on the right lower bout is not a crack - it is a darker wood grain that runs all along below and above the f-hole; it is also symmetrically present on the left side as the top is constructed from two "butterflied" slices of the same wedge). The violin is also in perfect condition cosmetically.

Accesories matter. This violin is being offered as full outfit with high quality accessories, which include a brand new bow by Artino and a lightweight Toyo Gakki wooden case made in Japan. The violin is equipped with a brand new set of Alphayue strings and a Wittner tailpiece for easy tuning.

ABOUT SUZUKI VIOLINS

In the event you are not familiar with Suzuki Violin Co.'s model line-up, their model numbers are very easy to understand:

- the 100 series - beginner violins made for export, mostly to the USA, several decades ago.
- the 200 series (200, 220, 280, etc.) - high quality and quite popular beginner and progressing models;
- the 300 series (300, 310, 330, etc.) - violins for intermediate players;
- the 500 series (500, 520, 540, 550) - violins for advanced players;
- the Eternal series (1100 and 1200) - violins for professional musicians, "orchestra" grade;
- the Heritage series (1400s and 1500s) - violins for professional musicians, "soloist" grade.

Within each series, models with the higher number tend to have greater value.

While Suzuki violins are relatively rare in the U.S., they dominate the domestic market in Japan and are highly regarded. In Japan, a brand new Suzuki 280 violin has typically been priced in stores at level above the Yamaha's AV5 model.
