Trader-BOB's MUSIC offers a 1920's May Bell tenor banjo. Made by the Slingerland Drum company. Very original instrument with some "RESTOMOD" changes performed by it's previous owner. The tuner machines were updated to planetary gear units, and the tinted plexiglass resonator was added. The workmanship n the resonator, is very well done, Circular cut, very smooth, with 1/4" thick spacers, to leave a gap between the body, of the banjo, and the plexiglass. The armrest bracket is handmade, with machine circles on it. The rest of the instrument is original. All the hardware is original, and matching. 10-3/4" diameter synthetic head, 20 tension hooks. The dowelstick is personalized with the previous owners SS number. The finish looks original, and in great shape. Sounds and plays like it should. Tuned D,G,B,D. The hand made, wooden hard case is original to this instrument. I have replaced the case liner, with some black "Gorilla Hair" material. The case is very well made.
