2003 Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker Reissue
The Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker 2x12 Combo Amplifier Reissue is a tonally accurate recreation of the legendary JTM45-based combo amp famously used by Eric Clapton. This 30-watt, all-tube amplifier is celebrated for its warm, "creamy" overdrive. It features a GZ34 valve rectifier to provide the smooth compression and natural sustain characteristic, and touch-sensitive response of the original JTM45 circuit.
Two Channels
The two channels of the 1962 combo amp allow for a broader range of tones and sounds. You can set up different settings on each channel and effortlessly switch between the two when needed. This versatility is particularly useful when playing various genres of music.
Celestion G12M-25 Speakers
The 25W version of this speaker has a bold mid-range and tight high-end, giving it aggressive tones for chords and searing leads. It's perfect for bringing drive and clarity to modern high gain amps. Marshall chose Celestion Greenback speakers for their unquestionable vintage rock tone. Think rich midrange, a warm low-frequency response that's neither too tight nor too loose, and a gentle high-frequency roll-off that sounds right whether you're playing clean or full-bore. You'll instantly recognize the classic sound when you hear it, and it's the perfect foundation for rock and blues guitar.
Low wattage for a vintage Marshall
The 1962 Bluesbreaker is a reissue of the classic Marshall JTM45 amp, which only use 30 watts of power to create its epic tones. That's pretty low power when you consider Marshall's other models at the time. But 30 watts is perfect for live use in small to medium sized venues, and it's ideal for recording. You can get the sound of a fully pegged tube amp at a much more reasonable volume level, reducing mic bleed in your studio and your onstage volume when gigging out.
Perfect Simplicity
Nothing gets in the way of you and your music with the 1962 Combo amp. Thanks to its tremolo effect (which can be controlled via footswitch), two channel input and three band EQ, this amp is uncomplicated and undemanding. It’s for those who want to just plug in and perform.
Built in Marshall’s UK Factory
Expertly manufactured in the Bletchley, England facility, the 1962 'Bluesbreaker' proudly embodies the spirit of Marshall. Evolving with technological advancements, the reissue Bluesbreaker is equipped with 6L6 valves and Celestion G12 speakers, while still featuring timeless Marshall design details. Though momentarily overshadowed by 100-watt full stacks, the Bluesbreaker has returned to the spotlight as part of the Vintage Reissue series. This comeback story is only getting started.
