I am offering a Gibson ES-335 Dot Reissue from 1990, the still manufactured in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), legendary semi-hollow electric guitar model with top, back, and sides made of laminated maple, including a solid maple center block, set-in mahogany neck with slim slim “C” neck profile, bound rosewood fingerboard with classic pearl dot inlays, two warm-sounding Gibson Bill Lawrence “The Original” humbuckers, and a Gibson Nashville Tune-o-Matic bridge with stoptail in a beautiful cherry nitro high-gloss finish in excellent condition, including a brown Gibson vintage hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.

In 1986, the Norlin Corporation sold its Gibson shares, ending the “Norlin era,” and under new management, the focus returned to manufacturing quality. This new beginning was urgently needed and significantly saved Gibson from ruin.

This 1990 Gibson ES-335 Dot Reissue is an excellent example of the exceptional post-Norlin manufacturing quality at the Nashville factory.

The guitar features the classic cherry finish par excellence, which discreetly highlights the plain tonewood grain. In addition to the hollow maple body, the instrument has a solid maple center block, a set-in mahogany neck, and a bound rosewood fingerboard with the sparkling pearl dot inlays that give this model its name. Playability is pleasantly smooth, thanks in particular to the rather slim neck profile, which tends towards the '60s style, and the 42.9mm nut width.

Sonically, this ES-335 is equipped with two original “The Original” circuit board humbuckers developed by Bill Lawrence, which deliver a warm, open vintage tone with silky highs, carrying mids, and tight bass thanks to their melodic singing qualities, complex rich overtones, and extremely dynamic sound response. This allows you to play classic jazz and blues sounds as well as honest rock and groovy funk riffs. This makes the guitar an absolute all-rounder: from the screaming and carrying tone of Eric Clapton's “Woman Tone” to Noel Gallagher's slightly snotty harmonies to Joe Bonamassa's modern high-octane blues or Cris Cornell's experimental soundscapes, the 335 plays everything very reliably.

A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

In short, a wonderful Gibson ES-335 that combines perfection in sound, playability, and appearance!

The Gibson ES-335 Dot Reissue is no longer manufactured in this form and boasts outstanding build quality that is now only found in Gibson instruments in a significantly higher price range.

This ES-335 comes from its first owner, is in very good original condition and is technically flawless. Visually, the guitar shows occasional superficial age-related wear, which blends in well with the vintage patina of the instrument (see pictures). The frets are still in top condition.

The instrument has been professionally set up with 10-46 Elixir strings, and I (a long-time guitar teacher) will ship it fully insured with DHL for €49.99 within Germany or €99.99 within the EU. Worldwide shipping is possible—individual shipping costs upon request.
