This vintage and clean for its age 1982 Ibanez Musician MC 924 Bass features a 34" scale neck-through design. The neck is 5-piece neck, constructed of three pieces of rock maple, with two strips of walnut in between them. The body is solid ash. Featuring a set of Ibanez Super P5 and Super J5 pickups, based on Precision and Jazz Bass style pickups in Ibanez' own covers, it includes an active equalizer circuit that can be switched in or out between active and passive modes. In passive mode, it delivers solid, warm tones, and when switched to Active mode, a more present, “Hi-Fi” tone is achieved, with separate low, mid, and treble controls. It’s worth noting that even in Active mode, the passive master tone is still engaged, allowing for far more tonal exploration than found on most basses. It features volume, pickup blend and tone controls, ALL featuring the original Ibanez sure-grip knobs.
This is a great example of the early MC924 stored away in the case for decades. There are a couple of minor dings on the headstock, but the body is super clean. Plays and sounds great!
