8 great preamps in one unit - that's the big deal here. Colorful EQ and insert on every channel. 4 busses. This board sounds great driven and great open - it has a very full - midrange heavy sound. It's much higher fidelity than, for example - a 424, but still has that beautiful color one looks for in old Tascam gear. This is incredible as your "drum buss" or summing mixer - that's how I've mostly used it - and it is beautiful in that application. Glue and saturation without going over-board. Add a touch of compression and you're all the way there. Sounds like a record. Done. Also an amazing companion to any tape recording machine.

This machine is in great physical and operating condition for its age - it's rare to see these babies with all their knobs and faders intact, all meters lit up and working. There are definitely some scratchy pots and other minor grievances but nothing that would hold you back much.

Most of the cosmetic wear is on the sides (bookends) of the unit which have some chips and dings. Please see photos for accurate depiction of condition.

This is a 100V unit MIJ, but has been confirmed for 120V operation by my tech.
