1970 Gibson Les Paul Recording Bass – Low Impedance Pickups – Vibey & Original Mojo

For your consideration is this 1970 Gibson Les Paul Recording Bass in Very Good condition, loaded with character and vintage mojo. If you know, you know — these Les Paul Recording models are a totally different animal from the standard bass lineup of the era. Designed with low impedance pickups and studio-focused electronics, this bass delivers a wide tonal range that goes from deep, articulate lows to punchy, clear mids that sit beautifully in a mix. It’s a serious player’s instrument with real recording pedigree.

Condition:

Overall Very Good condition for its age with honest vintage wear throughout. This bass has plenty of natural patina and vibe — we intentionally did not attempt to deep clean it, as we wanted to preserve the authentic 56-year-old character. It wears its age proudly.

Modifications / Notes:

• Upgraded tuners (see photos)

• Strap buttons have been changed

• Original low impedance pickups

• Light fret wear

• Tons of vibe and stage presence

Playability is solid and comfortable, with smooth action and frets that have plenty of life left. It feels like a real-deal vintage instrument the moment you pick it up.

Whether you're a collector, studio player, or someone looking for a unique vintage Gibson bass with serious tonal flexibility, this 1970 Les Paul Recording Bass checks the boxes.

Comes with the original case as shown. (375)

Condition, Shipping, & Setup Details:

I specialize in selling pre-owned guitars, which typically show signs of regular use. My commitment to quality is unwavering, and I ensure that any guitar I offer for sale is free from problems, unless explicitly mentioned. With a history of selling guitars dating back to the 1980s, I pride myself on selecting only the finest instruments.

It's important to understand that our shipping fees encompass more than just the cost of the box. I guarantee professional packaging using UPS-approved materials to safeguard your purchase. This typically includes new, heavy-duty boxes rated at 275lbs, 3-inch wide brown fiberglass reinforced tape, ensuring the guitar is well-protected. Additionally, every guitar shipped is fully insured for its sale price.

The guitars are set up according to my personal preferences (Medium Height), and I strictly avoid guitars with neck issues. However, guitar setup is highly subjective, and it is advisable to have it adjusted by a trusted local technician who understands your specific playstyle and preferences.
