I am offering a ESP E-II Eclipse FM STBKL from 2013, a handcrafted premium singlecut electric guitar model from the E-II series by the renowned Japanese premium guitar manufacturer ESP with solid mahogany body (total weight 3.75kg), impressively figured flame maple top, set-in mahogany neck with slim thin “U” neck profile and 42mm bone nut, bound rosewood fingerboard with elaborate custom flag mother-of-pearl inlays and 24 XJ frets, powerful active HH pickup configuration consisting of two EMG Hot 70 humbuckers (upgrade!), high-quality Gotoh tuners and Gotoh Tune-o-Matic bridge with Gotoh stopbar tailpiece in a beautiful see-through black finish with black hardware and cream body bindings in excellent condition, including black ESP luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 11-gauge Ernie Ball strings in standard D tuning.
The ESP E-II Eclipse FM is the perfect tool for the modern metal guitarist looking for a first-class axe for implementing the most virtuoso playing techniques in a high-gain context. As you would expect from ESP, this beast, hand-forged in Japan, combines all the high-end specs that a hard rock/metal guitarist could dream of: a lightweight solid mahogany body with a beautifully figured flamed maple top provides a solid tone with extra bite in the follow-up, and the one-piece mahogany neck in set neck construction offers ideal tone transfer with long sustain and ultra-fat tone.
Sonically, the guitar has been professionally upgraded with two EMG Hot 70s. The active humbuckers combine organic PAF-inspired basic characteristics with the typical EMG precision and assertiveness. The result is tight, defined bass, articulate mids, and a clearly focused treble range—ideal for hard rock, metal, and modern high-gain applications without sacrificing dynamics. The pickups remain transparent and controlled when played clean, while delivering enormous pressure and sustain under gain.
A sound sample of the model (with stock pickups only) can be found above at the end of the photo gallery (from 3:40 min).
In terms of playability, the slim Thin U neck profile with a 42mm bone nut and 628.6mm scale length offers fantastic smoothness – typical of ESP. Gotoh tuners and a Gotoh Tune-o-Matic bridge with matching tailpiece ensure ultimate tuning stability with clean intonation right up to the highest of the 24 extra jumbo frets.
Visually, the guitar's brutal See Thru Black high-gloss finish combined with the dark black hardware gives it a dangerous appearance, while loving details such as the cream bindings around the body and headstock or the elaborate custom flag inlays in the bound rosewood fingerboard lend it a majestic elegance.
In short: a genuine Japanese ESP Eclipse of the absolute highest class with an incredible price-performance ratio, combining perfection in sound, playability, and appearance!
