This 1972 Ernst Heinrich Roth viola is a meticulous reproduction of the Antonius Stradivarius Cremona 1700 model, crafted in the firm’s Bubenreuth-Erlangen workshop in West Germany. Reflecting the high standards of the Roth family’s legacy, the instrument features a superb selection of aged European tonewoods, typically characterized by a highly flamed maple back and a fine-grained spruce top. Its aesthetic is defined by a rich, reddish-brown oil varnish over a warm golden ground.

Tonal qualities of this era are often described as clear and well-balanced with a warm, reedy quality, offering a resonant and focused sound that remains even across all four strings.
