This model is a Brook Taw, one of Brook Guitars’ most popular designs, handmade in Devon, England. The Taw is not a dreadnought. So the Taw is closer to a concert/000 guitar than a dreadnought, but it's a fairly full-sized OM. It has the comfort and balance of an OM while still producing surprising volume. Brook’s Taw model is generally built on their OM (Orchestra Model) / Auditorium-style body, which is closer to a concert guitar than a dread. Brook’s own dealers describe the Taw as an OM body shape. In practical terms: * Smaller waist than a dreadnought * More balanced tone * Excellent fingerstyle guitar * Still strong enough for strumming * More comfortable sitting down than a dread.

Wood Combination * Top: Western Red Cedar Easily East Indian Rosewood or possibly one of Brook’s darker rosewood sets. * The dark chocolate coloring with the straight grain points toward rosewood rather than walnut or yew. * Fingerboard/Bridge: Ebony. * Headstock: Brook’s custom paddle-style headstock with gold tuners. Body Size Looking at the proportions, this is absolutely not a dreadnought. * Lower bout: ~15.3” * Upper bout: ~11.3” * Waist: ~8.9” * Scale length: 24.75” That puts it squarely in Brook’s OM/Auditorium category.
