Up for sale is an exceptionally clean, fully restored 1946 Masco MA-17. This classic PA amplifier has been expertly converted into a premium instrument amplifier. Unlike many vintage Mascos, this unit has been meticulously restored and idles whisper-quiet.

This circuit sounds especially good with a blues harp, however, it also sounds good with electric guitar offering incredible touch sensitivity, rich harmonic breakup, and plenty of power.

The Restoration & Components

No corners were cut on this build. The structural integrity of the 1946 aesthetic was preserved, while the entire circuit was overhauled using premium, top-tier components.

• Original Components: Chassis (clean, no extra holes drilled), original cage, bottom panel, sockets, speaker terminals, output transformer, and choke.
• Transformers & Tubes: Features a period-correct, NOS (New Old Stock) Power Transformer—sourced specifically for this project to ensure vintage-accurate voltages. All tubes are premium vintage NOS and test as new on a calibrated Hickok tester.
• The Upgrades: Built with legendary Allen Bradley resistors, Sprague Atom and Jupiter Red capacitors, Switchcraft jacks, and a brand-new pilot light, fuse holder, and pots.
• Safety & Usability: Upgraded with a modern, 8-foot grounded 3-prong power cord (coiled to lay perfectly flat).

• Output Impedance: Connect impedance pigtail to select 2 /4 / 8 / 15 Ohms.
• Included: Includes a custom-made output cable (6-pin chassis plug to standard 1/4" speaker jack) so you can plug it into a modern cabinet immediately.
