Condition. Condition. Condition. This weekend, I’ve turned down two a $4500 cash offers from vintage dealer friends. New Gibson Murphy Lab Country Westerns go for $7500. What would you rather have? What is a better investment? I have owned many vintage flat top Gibsons over the years. They are my favorite guitars. This one is exquisite. Some light clear coat checking on the top. Some minor dings. Please look at the photos closely. Typically when an old box is this clean, they don’t sound great. The ones that have been in 1000’s of old honky tonks are usually the real demons. This one sounds killer. It has the desirable 1 11/16 inch neck width. My luthier just gave it a fret dressing and put one of those brass things under the bridge plate for long lasting stability. The top is nice and flat on this one. No cracks or repairs. I love this neck profile. Reminds me of my 1960 ES-330. Wide and kind of flat on the back. This guitar plays like butter. Act fast. This guitar is also listed on social media pages in the Seattle/Pacific northwest area.
