Subway Guitars has been the Bay Area's premier guitar chop shop since 1968.
We have been building custom guitars for decades and boast over 300 years combined experience.
This sleek black strat is a great example of the sort of mid-priced unique pro level guitars that we like to offer to the good citizens here in Berkeley, and now online as well.
The main attraction is a beautifully slick Wenge neck with a bound Wenge fingerboard with block paroloid inlays. It's a comfortable C shape, not too large or too small
The 1 5/8" nut and neck shape give this neck a familiar Fender feel.
The rich chocolate color of the neck inspired us to pair it with a black alder body and a black pickguard with gold parts.
Other nice features include an upgraded Wilkinson Bridge and a nifty triple string tree.
The pickups are '69 style with Alnico V magnets
Also, the wizards at Subway Guitars added a twist in the wiring- One of the knobs is a push push knob which engages the neck pickup and allows for seven tones instead of the traditional five.
The neck tone control is a push/push pot to allow neck+bridge and neck+middle+bridge pickup combinations. With the push/push knob down, the controls provide standard Strat style switching and controls.
This guitar has been lightly used with some light scratches on the back, and a few minor scratches on the sides. There are no dings or broken finish. The frets have no wear and are very fresh. Of course, we ship it freshly set up and it will ship in a padded gig bag
