Changing the rules of Solid-State amplification world:

For decades, matching cabinets to Tube Heads was very simple: there
were specific outlets for speaker impedance, usually 4-8-16ohms.
All you would have to do was to know the total impedance of the cabinet
and plug it to the right outlet.
Tube Amps are equipped with an Output transformer, which has separate
windings for each impedance, and to match is critical to avoid serious
damage.
If connected incorrectly the Power Tubes and output transformer can be
severely damaged.

And, what about Solid-State amps?

In the late 60s early 70s we saw the introduction of solid state technology in Audio
equipment and also some great Guitar Amplifier, for many technical reasons that makes
it a big step forward. However, guitarists preferred the warmer sound of tube amplifiers.
Solid state for the most part was employed in entry level/ lower cost amps. The only
exception to this was in Bass amplification where powerful clean tones were produced
and Bass player embraced this technology. Today however, times have changed. Solid
State Technology has made giant leaps forward. We now have many great Solid-state
amplifiers and digital modelers but….. There is still one big problem
Solid-state amps don’t have output transformers like a tube heads, so the power of the
amp, is strictly dependent on the impedance of the speakers.
For example:
A 100 watt rms amplifier at 4ohms, connected to an 8ohm cab, will lower the output
power to approximately. 50 watts rms.
With a 16 ohm cab, it will fall down to around 25 Watts rms.
It’s Ohm’s law, you double the impedance, you effectively halve the output power of the
amplifier. You get the picture.

INTRODUCING THE ADAPTO TECHNOLOGY:

Since 2012 Foxgear’s Baroni brand of amplifiers have been working on the cutting edge of solid-state class
D technology, developing a series of pedal sized guitar amplifiers from 45 watts up to our award winning
150W AFK150.
In the guitar world, most manufacturers utilize 16 ohms speakers to meet lndustry logistical/production
standards, the most common total impedance for guitar cabs are 16 ohms for 1×12” and 4×12”, and usually
8 ohms for 2×12”. Some exceptions are some old Marshall 4×12’s which have 16 to 4 switchable impedance.
OK, now picture this…
You’re going at a rehearsal hall or gig and your backline cab is a 16ohm impedance and your amp can’t
deliver enough power with it….what do you do?
Imagine being free to bring just your pedalboard with a pedal sized amp on it, and connect to any cabinet
you may find at the rehearsal place, or at a Festival, battle of band, whatever. No matter what the impedance
is?
Stop dreaming, Foxgear/Baroni proudly presents “THE STAGE ANT” series. Featuring our cutting edge,
patent pending ADAPTO technology.

THE STAGE ANT STEREO:

THE STAGE ANT STEREO includes technology ADAPTO as well giving you the stereo loving guitarist the
freedom to use any cabinet you want. Those who use DIGITAL equipment
such as pedalboards or modelers like Kemper, Fractal, Quad Cortex, Mooer,
Headrush will love what the Stereo Stage Ant will do for them.
Often guitarists wanting to go stereo are often forced to go FOH console via
balanced XLR outputs, they may not have access to FRFR speakers or the
correct cabs for their tube amps, all they can do is opt for in-ear monitoring
system or just stage monitors. Now you can also use two different types of
speakers, regardless of their impedance, which will be handled
INDEPENDENTLY by the Stage Ant Stereo, even if you have a 1×2“ and a
4×12”, with different impedances.

There is an INDEPENDENT master volume for each channels, adjusting
different sound pressure levels and an EQ section for fine-tuning different
tonal responses. The ADAPTO section consists of a three-way selector
switch with 3 successive LEDs indicating the actual impedance in use.
Just like in the case of tube amplifiers, remember? You know the impedance
of your speaker and all you have to do is plug it into the corresponding
socket. There is only a speaker output and a selector switch here, super
easy.

On the rear panel, there is a main power supply that automatically adapts to
the local mains voltage from 100VAC to 240VAC, so it doesn’t matter where
you are, and a digitally controlled smart fan that adapts its work and
modulates its speed to regulate the internal temperature 100% silently.
The inputs are in combo XLR/TRS jack format, balanced/unbalanced, and
finally the two independent speaker outputs.

You will ALWAYS get real 100+100 W RMS at 1% THD distortion @1Khz.
REGARDLESS OF THE IMPEDANCE SELECTED.
Amazing don’t you think? We think so and know you will once you
experience the Stage Ant w/ ADAPTO technology for yourself.
