This monthly limited edition J-35 model is highly sought after by Gibson flat-top enthusiasts. The J-35 was produced for a short period from 1936 to 1943. While various specifications existed depending on the production period, this particular instrument is available in natural color. Features include a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and rectangular bridge, slotted saddles, unmarked Kluson tuning machines, script headstock logo and Banner logo, mother-of-pearl fingerboard dots, original firestripe pickguard, scalloped X bracing, and a natural finish. The J-35 is the predecessor to the legendary J-45 and J-50. Known as a bridge between the Jumbo and Advanced Jumbo and the J-45, it underwent numerous changes and variations in specifications. The natural color version was first produced in the later years. This model exudes a 1940s vibe with its pre-war script logo and Banner logo. The original had long saddles, but this one has been given a modern twist with slotted saddles. The neck grip has a modern, rounded, slightly thin grip with a triangular feel. It feels comfortable and easy to grip. It features a delicate tone and loud output. It produces a bold, explosive sound with strumming, and delicate, emotionally rich sounds with fingering. It offers a wide range of expression, from simple, sweet tones to bright, refreshing tones. The L.R. Baggs Element pickups are easy to operate with a single volume control, making it suitable for a wide range of uses. While there are some minor dents in the paint and faint scratches, these are mostly superficial and visible depending on the lighting, and the guitar is in relatively good condition with little wear. The neck and playing condition are also excellent. The script banner logo and fire stripe are highly popular features, making this an electric acoustic guitar that is ready for immediate use on stage or in recording studios. It comes with the same original hard case as the current standard model.
