In the shop we have a 1960's Audition 3-pickup guitar!
This instrument was likely made by Tiesco for Woolworth and Woolco Co. Department stores in the 1960s and features a "steel reinfroced neck" Plastic Saddles, Tremolo System and 3 Dearmond/Harmony/Rowe Style Goldfoil pickups with individual rocker switches.
The pickups are all functioning but the bridge pickup has low out put due to the "Solo" and position "1" Rocker Switch circuits failing. The Middle and Neck pickup and corresponding switches are in great working order and offer combinations of warm single coil tones.
The neck on this guitar is a thick C, while the guitar plays surprisingly great with the action being at 2/32nds and on the treble and bass sides at the 12th fret.
This guitar lost its tremolo arm at some point in its history as well as a few string ferrules. It also appears the G strings tuner button has been replaced.
There is plenty of wear to the instrument in the form of checking and dings here and there. Nothing that effects playability. There are some small indentions on the first 4 frets, but nothing that is effecting playability.
This guitar weighs 5.4lbs and does not include a case.
