Inspired by Billy Strings’ prized 1940 D-28, the Martin D-28 Billy Strings delivers a fresh take on a pre-war classic with appointments shaped around Billy’s high-energy approach. This signature Dreadnought features a distinctive 25” scale length that lowers string tension, making lightning-fast runs and expressive bends feel effortless — perfect for rapid, intricate playing.
A slightly wider custom nut width than his original pre-war model pairs with a modified low oval satin neck for a smooth, comfortable feel that encourages speed and precision across the fretboard. Built with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, it produces a powerful, resonant voice with deep bass and clear articulation.
Vintage-inspired details like bold herringbone trim, antique toner, and antique white binding give it timeless character, while Martin-exclusive nickel enclosed gear tuners and an ebony fingerboard adorned with abalone diamond and square inlays complete the refined look. A custom paper label featuring Billy’s pre-printed signature and graphic adds the finishing touch.
