Lefty Malinoski Hobo #485 Luthier Built Super Thin Hollow Archtop Jazz-bo

Hobo #485 is a bent wood hollow body guitar that marries acoustic and electric guitar design techniques to create a wonderful electric instrument… and it’s a lefty!

The body has fully lined nogal sides, western cedar top and back- it is arched construction with the top and back bent over an arched frame. It has a floating compensated aluminum lightening bridge and fixed aluminum tailpiece with the endpin jack.

The pickup is one of my handwound Type2 HB stacked humbuckers in a walnut cover that gives a warm and full range tone, matched with lefty Bournes control pots.

The neck is goncalo alves with a scarfed maple head and walnut fretboard; dual action trussrod - 12” radius / 24- 3/4” scale / Jescar 47104 frets / medium C/D profile… very comfortable and normal feeling. Delrin nut at 1-11/16” and Hipshot locking tuners with my custom barrel buttons - the action is low and easy.

The whole guitar is finished with Danish oil and weighs 4 lbs 4 oz.

Keep in mind this is an electric guitar with acoustic tendencies- it is not meant to be an acoustic guitar, nor will it sound like one unplugged. It requires electric strings and it will play like an electric guitar.
