Fender Troy Sanders Precision Bass Neck- Stripped Truss Rod

I am not sure what repairs are needed to fix this neck- You are buying it AS IS, this is why it is listed in Non Functioning Condition.

When I bought the neck all I was told by the company that resells damaged products was exactly as follows- "The truss rod is stripped and is incapable of reaching proper amount of relief." I bought this as a complete bass knowing the neck had an issue but that is all the information I had about the issue. Upon receiving it the action was higher with some back bow but not that severe, it played okay. I then bought a Genuine Fender MIM Guitar/Bass 3/16" Hex Truss Rod Nut, which is included. I can see around the truss rod area the finish is slightly damaged so someone had attempted to remove the truss rod nut prior. I then attempted to do the same, I was able to get it to turn but it would never come out of the hole. I had assumed what the seller was stating was the truss rod nut itself was stripped and if I could get the nut out I could put another nut on but the nut will move and get closer towards the headstock as if its going to come out and won't. I think the truss maybe stripped on the end with the anchor in the heel and it appears someone was attempting to remove that or maybe the entire rod is broke in the center. However the reality is it's beyond the level of repairs I do and I do not know what it needs or how to fix it. I assume the truss rod needs fully removed and a new one installed. I am just stating what I believe it needs, again this is AS IS and non functional, these necks in perfect shape are going for $500, this isn't one of them.

What I do know is this is a nice feeling neck, really smooth satin finish on the rear of the neck. The wood itself is in great shape, I do not see any repairs that will be needed beyond the truss rod being made to adjust either by fixing the rod or replacing it. The inlays are very well done and the silver burst headstock would pair nice with a black P or J bass body.

Included is what you see, the neck, tuners, string tree and 1 new Fender Truss Rod nut. That is all, nothing else.
