1952 Gibson GA-40 "Les Paul" amp. Serviced w/New old stock tubes

1952 Gibson GA‑40 Les Paul amplifier, the very first year of the Les Paul amp line that paired with the brand new '52 LP gold top guitar, and one of the most expressive small‑format amps Gibson ever built. It has just been professionally serviced at The Amp Lab in Campbell, CA, with only out‑of‑tolerance components replaced. All original resistors and capacitors are included for provenance. Changed to grounded 3 prong power cord for safety. Original included. Replaced tremolo switch in original tremolo pedal. Redwood cabinet smells amazing when the tubes heat up. Includes all of the original tubes. Most components were within specified tolerance. Amp had been in father-in-law's closet for 40 years as used for some of his jazz gigs prior to that. Pairs really really good with Electro-Harmonix Screaming Tree Treble Booster and Soul Food Overdrive. CRANKS! Tons of clean headroom for transparent pedals, that don't color the sound.

The original Chicago built 12" PM Concert Series Jensen speaker is intact, with EIA code 220237 confirming 1952 production. The amp retains its two‑tone brown cosmetics, original cabinet, and the unmistakable early‑GA‑40 voice: warm, harmonically rich cleans and that syrupy, musical breakup these amps are known for.
