Yes!!! It’s my understanding this beauty was from the Bun E. Carlos Collection (signed under the bell) And as many a drum enthusiast knows, in addition to a robust rock legacy, Bun E. has one hell of a drum and cymbal collection - one of the GREATEST there IS!
60 year old vintage Zildjian 1960s 22” weighing in at a Goldilocks 3084 grams! Just enough mass to deliver that solid stick definition and bell to the cut through the amps while still maintaining that telltale 60s percolating wash - which is so damn nice in a 22”! It just feels right.
This Zildjian floats in the estuary between jazz and classic rock - so many rock drummers of the 60s and 70s grew up emulating the jazz greats a generation before them, but were determined to push ahead in the newly minted rock genre.
But their drum and cymbal tones were jazz-y.
Which is exactly the case with this gem! Perfect for damn near everything and a hell of a lotta’ fun to play.
