Collector Grade 1967 Gibson ES-345TD Sunburst | OHSC | Vintage | All Original
Available now is a vintage collector grade, near mint example of a 1967 Gibson ES-345TD made in the golden-era of Gibson at the Kalamazoo Factory in Michigan. This one was purchased from its second owner, who recently acquired it last year from its original owner.
Complete with the guitar is its original hardcase, which is in good condition—the strap holding the lid is missing, so the lid opens fully.
Untouched apart from the replacement nylon saddles, this example has clearly been cared for and kept in a controlled environment, as there is little to no lacquer crazing. We wouldn’t be surprised if this spent most of its life under the bed. As mentioned, this one remains wired in stereo, includes a stereo A/B/Y cable, and retains its original PAT No. pickups, which sound glorious.
Condition wise, the guitar is structurally sound, completely functional, and ready to go thanks to a careful clean and setup from Ben of Beej Guitar Repairs, our dedicated tech with 25+ years of experience handling these kinds of instruments. Cosmetically, there are light surface marks and a surface crack to the left of the Varitone switch (as pictured). Apart from these minor details, this guitar presents extremely well for a near 60-year-old instrument. The finish is unfaded, displaying a warm orange hue—almost as fresh as the day it left the Kalamazoo factory.
The neck and fretboard follow suit, showing an unbelievably clean appearance and feel, with nothing noteworthy to mention. The frets have plenty of life remaining for vintage-style wire. The headstock shows no dents, only a few light polishing scratches on the veneer front.
All plastics and are original and intact, in fine condition with only very light pick wear to the pickguard. And the all original hardware functions flawlessly and retains plenty of its gold plating, with little tarnishing.
The all-stock electronics function flawlessly, including the Varitone switch, and the original PAT No. pickups sound mellow, creamy, and woody.
Nut width: 40mm (1.575”)
1st fret depth: 21.5mm (0.85”)
12th fret depth: 26.2mm (1.03”)
Comfortable slim-to-medium C profile true to the late-’60s feel
